Overview
PVT offers four regenerative procedures. Low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy (Li-ESWT) uses focused acoustic pulses on penile tissue and is being studied for vascular erectile dysfunction. The P-shot and penile PRP involve injecting platelet-rich plasma, prepared from your own blood, into penile tissue. The O-shot applies the same PRP approach to the clitoral and vaginal area in women.
Honesty matters more here than anywhere else on this site. These procedures exist, are performed widely, and have plausible mechanisms, but the supporting evidence is still developing and results vary between individuals. No specific outcome is promised, and any provider who promises one should worry you. What we commit to is careful patient selection, sterile technique, and a doctor who will tell you plainly if you are unlikely to benefit.
That is why everything starts with an eligibility consult at Milnerton or Table View. The doctor reviews your history, confirms whether a procedure is clinically reasonable for you, often alongside conventional treatment, and quotes the full cost in writing. Procedures themselves are performed at 15 on Orange, our pre-booked procedure suite in Gardens.

About this procedureFrequently asked
Shockwave therapy applies focused acoustic pulses to penile tissue from outside the body. The P-shot, penile PRP and O-shot involve injecting platelet-rich plasma, a concentrate prepared from a sample of your own blood, into genital tissue. All are performed by a doctor at 15 on Orange.
Discomfort is generally modest. Shockwave therapy feels like rapid tapping and needs no anaesthetic. PRP injections are done after a topical numbing cream has taken effect, and most patients describe pressure rather than pain. You can drive yourself home afterwards.
Shockwave is typically delivered as a course, commonly six sessions over several weeks. PRP procedures may be single or repeated depending on the protocol your doctor recommends. Your exact schedule is set out at the eligibility consult, together with the full cost.
It is developing. Some published trials of shockwave therapy for vascular erectile dysfunction show improvement in erection scores, while others show little difference, and PRP research is at an earlier stage. Professional urology bodies currently regard these as emerging treatments. Your doctor will discuss what the research does and does not show before you decide.
That is exactly what the eligibility consult determines. Broadly, men with mild to moderate vascular erectile dysfunction are the group most studied for shockwave. People with unrealistic expectations, untreated underlying conditions, or clotting and medication issues may be advised against a procedure, and the doctor will say so directly.
Because these procedures are not right for everyone, and selling them without assessment would be poor medicine. The eligibility consult protects you: it confirms the diagnosis, rules out better-suited treatments, and gives you a written quote to consider without pressure.
